Bedrock and Vertical Harvest are collaborating to create Vertical Harvest Detroit in Milwaukee Junction, Detroit with a 2025 opening date. The vertical farm aims to produce 2.2 million pounds of fresh produce annually on a compact half-acre of land, ½00th of the space required to grow the same amount of food in the open.

The 74-foot tall structure will feature a 205,000 square foot growing canopy, harnessing sustainable hydroponic and controlled environmental agricultural practices. The farm will provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities and prioritize local consumption, with 70% of the harvest consumed within a 100-mile radius.

The project is expected to launch in 2025, with no disclosed cost. Vertical Harvest has previous experience with a successful operating farm in Jackson Hole, WY.
