The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) has a Solar Training Academy with chapters in Detroit. Their courses prepare new workers for jobs in solar industry, delivered locally by a local solar installation company. After the 2-week course, you'll be in a strong position to begin a career in solar installation, earning a starting salary north of $45,000 per year.
