Sun King, formerly known as Greenlight Planet, is dedicated to designing, delivering, installing, and funding solar energy solutions tailored for the 1.8 billion individuals worldwide facing challenges in reliably accessing or affording conventional electricity grid connections.
Products include solar-powered lanterns, home solar power and inverters. As of October 2023, Sun King have sold over 22 millions units thanks to a team of 24,000 sales agents based in Nigeria, Mozambique, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya as well as India.
A $130 million loan in May 2023 from Citi has helped propel distribution to beyond 100 million end-customers (paying customers, as well as family members).
