Coffee social enterprise Change Please have partnered with sustainable brewer Toast Ale to launch a novel café-taproom concept in London. Named Good Company, the venue pours Toast's beers, brewed using their signature recipe using surplus bakery bread. An espresso setup is staffed by Change Please, with other conscientious ompanies servicing the food menu.
Other social and environmental enterprises are participating in the space. Breakfasts and cakes are supplied by Breadwinners, a social enterprise helping refugees. Lunch and dinner service includes a selection of sandwiches, salads and hot pies by the B Corp Pieminister. Surplus food will be listed on Too Good to Go, and Bio-bean will collect spent coffee grounds to create coffee logs for heating.
The fit-out is also worth noting. Instead of buying new furniture, Good Company re-used and re-orientated the space based on the previous tenant who closed because of covid stresses. Secondhand furniture was then sourced from the likes of Community Interest Company, Orange Box.
Open from 8am to 8pm, Good Company is located at 17-19 Triton Street near to Great Portland Street on the south-east corner of Regent's Park (Google Maps). Look out for events on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
